"Captain" Werner Träsch is quite astonished: the fresh wind of social change is also blowing among the tradition-conscious Berlin garbage workers. His boss, Dorn, has got it into his head that women should finally be employed as refuse collectors.

German detective Sonja Schwarz decides against the offer to take over as head of the homicide division in Frankfurt. She moves with her husband Thomas to his hometown of Bolzano in South Tyrol. However, she hardly has a chance to get used to her beautiful new home. Instead, on her very first day, she finds herself involved in her first case involving a dead body and a car chase.

The three garbage collectors accidentally get on the trail of a protection racket in the Neukölln neighborhood: Snack bar owner Mohammed has to fend off an aggressive gang of youths and eventually resorts to drastic measures - but Werner discovers that the situation is not quite as clear-cut as it seems.
